  1. I just saw and added the SAS Communities post All roads lead to Rome : Three Tables and one Diagram to review the SAS Viya deployment methods. I should have read that before I did the Installing SAS Viya 4 (2021.1.2) Locally … For “custom method” it has Probability to have a successful Viya deployment from the first time=Low and Recommendation=To avoid as much as possible … that sounds like good advice ;) Best to stick with the SAS provided IaC methods if you can.

  2. Hi Gerry,

Thanks for posting those links. I’ll add them to the list. I don’t know how I could have missed them as they’re very useful. I haven’t gotten round to doing backup, migration, and some of the config tasks yet, but I could have done with reading the the kustomize posts earlier! :)

    Cheers

  3. Thanks Justin. I just collated a few posts I found useful – the real thanks go to the authors of those posts for sharing their knowledge and experience with us!

  4. Hi Paul,
can I deploy SAS Viya 4 on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure?
If yes, could I use Kubernetes or OpenShift?
    Thanks,
    Luca

  5. Hi Luca,

Sorry, I don’t have any experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure so do not know the answer to that one. It is probably best to ask SAS Technical Support or post a question on communities.sas.com to see if anyone else has experience with this. I know OCI was discussed in some papers relating to SAS Viya 3.5 but I don’t know about support with SAS Viya 4. It is not in the cloud list on https://www.sas.com/en_us/software/viya.html but SAS would be the best people to ask about current and future support.

    Cheers
    Paul
